STEVEN H. ALLEN, LEED AP, is Vice-Chair of the Green Mechanical Council and Director of the Sustainable Technologies Department of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada (UA). Mr. Allen has over 40 years experience as an HVACR Service Technician and HVACR educator. He works with HVACR Manufacturers, Contractors Associations, and Career Technical Schools to develop classroom and web-based HVACR certificate and degree programs that lead to employment. He is the developer of the UA STAR Testing and Certification program, and was the Refrigeration Expert and Competitor Judge representing the United States at the 2007 World Skills Competition in Shizuoka, Japan. Mr. Allen has a Masters Degree in Education with a Certification in Instructional Technology.

TOM CRANDELL - has been Director of CPD for seven years. Prior to his promotion to CPD Director, Tom was Program Director at CPD for seven years. Tom is also a former program director of credit offering programs and a faculty member (Associate Professor) from the College of Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Department, Ferris State University.

WALTER JANN - began his career at Legend Valve in 1996 and was named Executive Vice President of Legend Valve in 2000. He is responsible for directing Legend Valve's strategies for operations, technology, and logistics management. Prior to his current position, Walter served as Director of Operations for Legend. Walter is based at Legend Valve's headquarters in Shelby Township, MI.

Mechanical Contracting Education and Research Foundation

DENNIS LANGLEY – In 1989, the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) established its own non-profit organization to underwrite and develop industry education and research activities that were not appropriate for the association to undertake due to their size, their cost, or due to their broader industry nature. MCERF articulates and funds the mechanical contracting industry’s most critical human resource and research needs by supporting activities that allow industry professionals to succeed in their businesses.

International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO)

Ron Rice - started off as an apprentice pipefitter over 30 years ago and is now the immediate Past President of IAPMO. Over these years, he has developed an experienced understanding of the "hands on" aspects and keen strategic eye for the plumbing and mechanical industries. As a membership-based association, IAPMO is proud to utilize an open consensus process in the development of its flagship Uniform Plumbing Code and Uniform Mechanical Code. These codes are established through scientific research, debate, and analysis, strengthening its position at the forefront of the plumbing and mechanical industries.
